Despite Zhang looking at the toughest test to date this weekend, MMA fanatics have already started to speculate about her next opponent, assuming she retains her strap.

Some have suggested a fight against Flyweight royalty, Valentina Shevchenko. ‘Bullet’ will also defend her throne against a particularly driven Jessica Andrade on the same card.

Shevchenko is considered one of the best fighters ever to grace women’s MMA. Zhang is on her way to cement her position alongside the likes of ‘Bullet’. Therefore, it is only fitting that one wants to see these warriors clash inside the Octagon.

Is Weili Zhang vs Valentina Shevchenko THE fight to make?

Amanda Nunes and Liz Carmouche have been the only fighters to hand Shevchenko defeats in her illustrious professional career. ‘Bullet’ has an extremely impressive professional record of 20-3. 8 T/KO and 7 submission finishes point to her complete arsenal of skills.

Zhang, on the other hand, has a distant relationship with losses. She has a near-perfect record of 21-1, her last loss come at the hands of one Meng Bo way back in 2013. Also much like Shevchenko, she is rather versatile.

10 T/KO and 7 submission finishes are the highlights of her career. Both fighters have been able to establish their dominance in their respective weight classes.
