

UFC’s first pay-per-view of the year, UFC 257, is stacked overall. Conor McGregor will fight Dustin Poirier in the main event. Dan Hooker will welcome former Bellator champion Michael Chandler to the promotion in the co-main event.
Apart from those two lightweight bouts, Arman Tsarukyan and Matt Frevola will clash in another important fight in the landscape of the 155 lbs division. That fight is featured for the prelims.
Tsarukyan, however, missed weight at the weigh-ins today. He failed to make the lightweight limit of 156 lbs coming 3 lbs overweight, weighing in at 159 lbs.

The Russian fighter is expected to show much more discipline at this stage of his career. He is only 24 and one should expect his professionalism to be at its peak.

Tsarukyan was initially scheduled to face the Afghan star Nasrat Haqparast. But the latter had to pull out of the bout at the last minute. Lightweight Matt Frevola had his bout against Ottman Azaitar scrapped too.

Arman Tsarukyan will be looking to build on his impressive start in the UFC
Tsarukyan dropped his UFC debut as he lost a unanimous decision against Islam Makhachev in 2019. He has since managed to rack up 2 wins with the latest being over Davi Ramos.
He will be looking to compete against the elites of the division sooner rather than later. But considering the current state of the lightweight division, Tsarukyan will have to put on a series of wins before reaching the cream of the crop.

But he will have the chance to attract eyeballs with Conor McGregor featuring on the same card. There is no doubt that the stakes are higher with the Irishman’s presence.
Tsarukyan and Frevola will be looking to make the most of this opportunity. Who will prevail? Tsarukyan or Frevola?
