Mark Hunt, along with several other UFC fighters, had filed a lawsuit against Dana White and co. seven years ago. Social media was buzzing over the news that Hunt had filed a civil suit against the CEO, and his former employee Brock Lesnar in Nevada District Court. The heavyweight star and Pride FC legend has been stuck in a lawsuit against the promotion since 2017. This is on top of almost 1200 UFC fighters already suing the organization from 2010 to 2017 with an anti-trust lawsuit.

There were allegations against the organization regarding racketeering, fraud, breach of contract, and many other claims. However, in 2023, the Nevada judge ruled that Hunt had failed to prove that the UFC head honcho and Brock Lesnar had intentionally deceived him about his opponent’s PED usage. So there was an issue of lack of evidence with regards to the case. However, the case is still not done, because Hunt is back with some other documents that he uploaded on X (formerly Twitter). Is this case going to cause more trouble for Dana White or will it be another failed attempt from Hunt?

In a new X post by the ex-fighter, he shared some legal papers about the case that has been ongoing since 2017. He also wrote, “Only a couple days left for the ninth circuit to make their orders  8 years of these scumbags denigrating and degrading my name nearly done writing. @danawhite et al  civil- criminal going jail for sure this year u lil bit**”

This long saga of a lawsuit began between Mark Hunt and UFC after Brock Lesnar had managed to defeat his opponent in a unanimous decision at UFC 200 in 2016. However, after that Lesnar tested positive for banned substances, which led to the win being overturned into a no-contest. This is what made Hunt pursue legal proceedings against the organization and the supposed cheating, which was intentionally overlooked by Dana White, according to Hunt.

However, the lawsuit that was filed in 2017 dismissed in 2019, and again revived in 2021, was denied by the judge because of lack of proper evidence. 2023 was the second time that the judge dismissed the evidence that was put forth by Hunt. However, the anti-trust lawsuit led to TKO Group Holdings reaching an agreement to settle the case with $335 million. This seems to have given Hunt new hope to keep going. It seems like the case might be revived again. Previously, even PFL founder Donn Davis had put forth his perspective on this huge lawsuit that has been going on for years.

Donn Davis Gave his verdict on the case

With the UFC settling such a huge lawsuit, the co-founder of PFL shared his ideas on the long-drawn anti-trust case. During his appearance in the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, he said that any top fighter or emerging star has this time as the best time to shine through and market themselves. He also said that the PFL, along with Bellator MMA, is going to become a leading power in the MMA world.

Davis stated, “To me, the biggest difference is not the antitrust lawsuit, the biggest difference is the emergence of PFL to be a premium option on a global scale with the same distribution, the same ability to pay, the same great option for you.”
