Conor McGregor’s adventures never end. One moment, you might find him promoting BKFC in Philadelphia and the next, you’ll spot him sitting at the Milwaukee Bucks’ bench with Brook Lopez at the NBA Center. You heard that right, in his latest escapade, the former dual-weight champion of the world recently had a candid conversation with 7’1″ Lopez, and the interaction is just as interesting as you might think.
After a successful BKFC Knucklemania 5, Conor McGregor happened to stop by Salt Lake City on Monday to witness Monday’s NBA game between the Milwaukee Bucks and Utah Jazz. During his surprise visit, the former UFC champ gave multiple interviews to the media and amidst them ‘Mystic Mac’ shared a bizarre moment with an American professional basketball player Lopez.
McGregor shook hands with Lopez and apparently asked the basketball player about his height, prompting the veteran center to stand up, showcasing his gigantic 7″1 height. So, what did the former UFC champ ask the Milwaukee Bucks center? Well, according to Lopez, “[Conor McGregor] asked me how tall I was. I let him know. He asked me to stand up and I did. And I knew at that point once I got up, I had to size him up. I had to do a little something. I’ve seen the face-offs before, so I knew I had to do my part.”

He further added, “Now, if something going to happen maybe Dame (Damian Lillard) can be my promoter or Dame can be my manager or whatever teach me to fight because I got nothing. I’m really going to rely on Dame for that.” It seems that Brook Lopez is as confused as us in this event. Regardless, it is quite funny to witness Conor McGregor in an NBA game considering he once had a heated interaction with an NBA mascot years ago.
In 2023, Conor McGregor had a heated confrontation with the Miami Heat mascot (which was all a promotional bit for his cryospray TIDL), where he exchanged blows with the mascot before security intervened. This incident occurred after the mascot jokingly provoked the fighter, leading to the clash. Regardless, his recent antics at the NBA game have been taken into cognizance by the MMA community and they might not be happy with it.
