Betting against Dana White? You might as well roll up your sleeves and run. The UFC CEO has been a towering figure in the world of MMA, resurrecting the sport from the brink of extinction in the early 2000s. Decades later, White is back at it—this time breathing life into another forgotten sport. His latest venture, Power Slap, once dismissed by critics, is now turning heads with a brand-new deal that’s as bold as the man behind it.

Despite its drawbacks, Power Slap has been making noises across the combat sports world as a legitimate sport. Building the sport from scratch, Dana White promised that he would take this mainstream, and it appears that what he is doing as the UFC head honcho has signed a multi-million dollar deal with billion-dollar crypto startup, VeChain to move the slapping promotion from Rumble to YouTube.

According to the reports, the Cryptocurrency firm will be paying $76 million over the next six years to serve as the title sponsor for Power Slap. Well, there’s a catch to this deal. Forbes has reported that this deal has been closed with less than half what Power Slap was previously earning from Rumble at a remarkable $30 million per year. If we do the math real quick, then the promotion will be earning $12.66 million per year now.

So isn’t this deal worrisome for Dana White? Well, unlike the previous deal, the VeChain deal operates under a traditional sponsorship model, simply paying to have its name associated with Power Slap. However, there is no additional broadcast agreement in place to offset revenue from YouTube. Previously, Rumble had the exclusive power to showcase the Power Slap events on their channel. However, now Dana White has the exclusive power. So, what did the UFC CEO say about this new deal? Let us find out.

Dana White lays out a plan to make Power Slap a global promotion

While having a conversation with the media, the UFC CEO emphasized that Power Slap management controls all the internal decisions of the company without unnecessary interference from any external forces. White revealed, “You know who I like to bet on? Me,” White told Forbes. “[At Power Slap], we own everything, and we control everything. We are basically creating our own destiny.”
