UFC light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira successfully defended his title against the former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jamahal Hill, after a bone-chilling first-round KO win. However, the moment that trumped all was the BMF fight between Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje.

The fight concluded with the Hawaiian getting the upper hand after a devastating KO in the 4:58 seconds in the 5th round. The cherry on top was UFC legend and former two-time UFC champ, Mark Coleman wrapping the belt around the waist of the newly crowned BMF champion. Coleman would take to his Instagram to relay a message of gratitude to Holloway and UFC CEO, Dana White for his opportunity.

Mark Coleman sends a heartfelt message to Max Holloway

UFC legend and hero, Mark Coleman posted a video on his Instagram, with the caption, “Had the best weekend of my entire life I have all you to thank for this. It was you all asking if I could put the belt on the champion of the BMF Fight and it was special to me. Max Holloway u did an amazing job true Bad MFer. Sober Carnivore 9 ancestral tenants HH4L” Given everything that the UFC Legend, Mark Coleman faced this year and overcame all adversities, there couldn’t have been a better person to wrap the belt around the waist of the champion.

In the video, he thanked the fans for the opportunity, as he said, “What’s up everybody. Got a walk in I got to put the belt on champion Max Holloway. It’s all because you guys asked. Thank you so much. It was very special. I love and appreciate you all. Let’s go. Have a great day get up get move.”

Holloway and Gaethje were quite persistent on Coleman being the person to wrap the title around the winner’s waist. Here is what Holloway said during an interview.

Holloway pushes for Mark Coleman to present the BMF title

During an interview with MMA Junkie, leading up to the UFC 300 event, Max Holloway was asked who he wanted to be the person to hand the BMF to be. “Blessed” had one person in mind and that was the UFC legend who saved his parents from a burning house.

In the interview, he stated, “The only correct answer is Mark Coleman, man, especially with what he went through recently, with his dog, and his dog waking up, and his dog waking him up to go save his stuff. And he go in there and run for his dog. Guy’s a ‘G,’ bro. That’s a real-life BMF. So, I mean, that’s the only right answer, man.”
