Joe Rogan can be a geek like no other. From science fiction creations like Avatar to Star Wars, Rogan has seen it all and enjoyed it all thoroughly. However, these are some of the better-known science fiction mainstays of the world of entertainment.
Rogan sat down with yet another sci-fi geek, Bobby Lee. The two met for episode #2090 of The Joe Rogan Experience and Lee kept trying to convince Rogan to check out an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation when Rogan came up with his own idea of an amazing show, Battlestar Galactica.

Joe Rogan has watched a lot of science fiction shows throughout his life. That’s why perhaps Lee was having a rough time convincing him how great the 125th episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation was. Entitled ‘The Inner Light’, the episode showed Piccard waking up in a completely different life.
Lee argued that it was at least top 3 of the greatest sci-fi episodes ever to air on television. It was then that Joe Rogan remarked that one of the most underrated science fiction shows to ever grace television screens was none other than the new edition of Battlestar Galactica.
“You know what’s a super underrated television sci-fi show?,” he asked Lee. “Battlestar Galactica, the new version? So good. It’s incredible. It’s a really good show. Like you think of it as a science fiction show but it’s a really good psychology show. It’s like the way they had it set up it’s f*cking terrifying. . . It’s a great f*cking show like great acting, great stories, great special effects. It really flew under the radar.”
Lee’s enthusiasm was perhaps even greater than that of Joe Rogan when the show was mentioned. He also believed that the show was so good so much so that he’d already watched it twice over. The two are referring to the 2004 version of the famous story. So how good was it?

Joe Rogan pointed out how it’s more than just a science fiction show as it traverses the genre to be a show that also leans in into psychology. He also pointed out at how appropriate it is today because of the combination of “artificial people and real people”.
The podcaster is probably pointing towards the trends of AI going rampant in modern society and how it’s becoming scary to recognize real from artificial. The two also praised the performance of one particular actor, Edward James Olmos.

Olmos played the character of William Adama in the show and played a pivotal role in it as well. Lee pointed out how he was so good at playing the character and then Joe Rogan would go on about how the show was well-rounded in all ways. Do you think you’ll be checking the show out tonight?
