Podcasts played such a big role in the 2024 Presidential elections that it has been termed the ‘podcast election’ by some analysts. After all, President-elect Donald Trump and his VP, JD Vance especially did the rounds of the podcast circuit where they weren’t subjected to the same tough questions as they would be on legacy news media outlets.
In fact, many feel that since young men are the strongest support base for Trump, and were the main audience for the podcasts he went on, it helped him consolidate his vote bank. But of the many podcasts and interviews Trump did, some stand out more than others. In this piece, we will have a look at just that. So, let’s dive straight into it!
Joe Rogan Experience #2219 – Donald Trump

The biggest podcast appearance Donald Trump had was predictably on the world’s biggest podcast- The ‘Joe Rogan Experience’. This was the first time an actual Presidential candidate for one of the two major parties appeared on Rogan’s podcast. And the interview was massive.
Within just two days, the podcast episode had over 28 million views, and coming as it did just a few days from election day, was pretty big for his campaign. Joe Rogan, of course, later endorsed Trump, and it is safe to say this podcast appearance did go a long way to convincing him. After all, the duo bonded quite a bit talking about some of Rogan’s favorite topics like the existence of extraterrestrial life, the UFC, and Trump’s health.
Significantly, the President-elect gave the audience some pretty entertaining moments, such as calling his Democratic rival Kamala Harris ‘low IQ’, and claiming how even his doctor was surprised at how healthy he was. In addition, the President-elect also talked about some policies, most notably floating the idea of ending the income tax and making up the revenue via tariffs on imported goods. In short, the entirety of this JRE segment was iconic!
Andrew Schulz’s Flagrant podcast featuring Donald Trump
Trump’s appearance on comedian Andrew Schulz‘s ‘Flagrant’ podcast was perhaps the most entertaining of all his podcast appearances. After all, the comedian didn’t even talk about any policy with the President-elect forth the first hour of their podcast. Instead, the comedian focused on Trump’s kids, his unorthodox speaking style, and the assa–ination attempt on him for much of the first half.
Things took a somewhat serious turn after this, with Schulz jokingly calling out Trump’s role in getting Roe v. Wade overturned and the issues that it had created for couples looking to conceive using IVF. The comedian even poked holes in Trump’s campaign slogan, ‘Make America Great Again’ by claiming that America was already great.
Donald Trump – This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von #526
It was bizarre for some to see Theo Von, with his zany, stream-of-consciousness and always hilarious quips finally sit face-to-face with Trump. But surprisingly, Von had some pretty good questions for the then-presidential candidate, along with some hilarious moments thrown in.
The duo discussed the issue of healthcare, with Trump emphasizing the need to reform it so that more people have access to affordable healthcare. But perhaps the most entertaining part of the entire appearance was Theo Von explaining co–ine and its effects to the business mogul.
In addition, there were a few heart-touching moments during the podcast, too. Such as when Trump talked about the death of his older brother, Fred, who passed away over two decades ago due to substance ab-se issues. Trump admitted that going through that traumatic experience made him decide to become a teetotaller and he hasn’t had a drop of alcohol since then.
Donald Trump Interview – Lex Fridman Podcast #442
Lex Fridman had a pretty policy-heavy interview with Donald Trump on his podcast. The duo tackled the heavy issues of the day like the Ukraine war, the concerns of an ascendant China, and other issues of global politics. Trump also expressed his reservations about Artificial Intelligence, the disruptive effect it may have on the job market, and the dangers it poses.
During the podcast, Trump also touched on some lighter topics and told Fridman that he would “love to” release more information about UFOs if elected as well as publicizing the infamous Epstein client list. Fridman also asked the New Yorker about the 2020 election, which Trump claims was stolen from him.
Trump maintained his earlier position that the 2020 election had been rigged against him, despite the host trying to push back against his claims. The President-elect also expressed openness to the use of medical mari–ana, which he felt helped a lot of people with chronic conditions deal with pain.

Bussin’ With The Boys Podcast with Donald Trump
Donald Trump’s appearance on ‘Barstool Sports’ network’s ‘Bussin’ With The Boys’ podcast started off rough. Almost right out of the gate, Trump complained about being too tired to do the podcast and revealed that he was on it because his youngest son, Barron, was a fan of the ‘Boys’.
The conversation was pretty sport-centric, with Trump sharing his thoughts on various teams and sportspersons, which is unsurprising since ‘Bussin’ is a sports podcast. Trump spoke about his days of playing football as a tight end, and how he decided to quit the sport since he was tired of being tackled by guys from ‘bad neighborhoods’ who were angry at their lives.

But the most heated moment of Tump’s entire podcast tour came when Trump and one of the hosts fought over the controversial Olympic gold medallist boxer, Imane Khelif. While Trump accused the Algerian boxer of being a man, co-host, Will Compton pushed back, leading Trump to call him ‘nasty’ and the entire cast started to talk over each other.
In the end, Trump’s podcast tour was a roaring success, with voters getting to see a much more candid version of the then-candidate Trump. This, of course, helped humanize him and viewers got to know him as a person at least some of them could trust and elect President. Which of Donald Trump’s podcast appearances were your favorite?
