Tony Ferguson is all set to take on Michael Chiesa on UFC Fight Night Abu Dhabi card on August 3. The 39-year-old will look to end his six-fight losing streak once he enters the Octagon on Saturday. Tony Ferguson is one of the biggest names in the UFC, with a career record of 26-9-0. “El Cucuy” is a former interim lightweight champion who defeated Kevin Lee at UFC 216 to win the title. Ferguson was born on February 12, 1984, in Oxnard, California, but is mainly of Mexican heritage. 

His surname, Ferguson, comes from his Scottish-American stepfather. “El Cucuy” burst onto the scene after he got selected in the Ultimate Fighter season 13. The 39-year-old won the season’s final match after he defeated Ramsey Nijem in the finals of the Ultimate Fighter season 13. His outstanding performance earned him a contract in the UFC.

He finally made his much-awaited debut at UFC 135, facing off against Aaron Rilley in the Lightweight division. The fight was called off in the first round as Rilley complained of a broken jaw. The stoppage in the fight resulted in Ferguson winning the fight via knockout. Ferguson had a dream run in the UFC for a good period.
