Tony Ferguson is back and he looks happier than ever. Everybody knows, “El Cucuy’ has had his stroke of bad luck and terrible losses have come his way. After a six-fight losing streak, can he turn back the wheel of time on his career? Perhaps, it all comes down to the people he holds close.

Ferguson recently appeared for a press conference. He looks different and more mature as if training with David Goggins had turned him into a whole new man. Stronger and much more refreshed, Ferguson passionately spoke about his inner circle. Take a look.

Tony Ferguson has always held on to some people in his life. And one of them, for the longest time, has been UFC and WWE sensation, Brock Lesnar. ‘The Beast’ is the one that essentially helped Ferguson train and become a bigger part of the UFC. Today, they are still just as close.

“I’m back to where the f*ck I need to be,” Ferguson told the press. “And that’s how Brock and chief and everybody else that have I have allowed to be in my close Circle (have come) to understand that I am a deadly motherf*cker.” It looks like the wind is back in Ferguson’s sails as he mentioned Chief, none other than David Goggins.

Whilst Lesnar has been by his side since his UFC hay days, Goggins has helped him through brutal training and mental resets right before his next fight. Often called the toughest man on the planet, Goggins has put in a lot of effort to train Ferguson.

Perhaps all of the training together is what’s helped him secure a place for himself in the fighter’s inner most circle. Now, the question is, will it all come to fruition? There have been those filled with doubt. Does a fighter like ‘El Cucuy’ really need so much cardio training? Or should he spend his time sparring instead?

Will his training secure the win?

An MMA pundit like Joe Rogan expressing doubt over Ferguson’s training routine can surely not be taken for granted. Rogan was very vocal about his thoughts on an edition of The Joe Rogan Experience. Clearly, he was worried about Ferguson’s future.

“Tony’s dying. But David said Tony was the first guy to get through hell week with him, which is incredible.” Rogan said about the brutal training routine. Many training videos show Ferguson sweating, struggling, even puking his guts out after what one can only see as all hell broken lose. For Goggins though, it’s another day walking in the park. Will this really help ‘El Cucuy’?
