There’s hardly anyone who’ll argue with the fact Jon Jones is the ‘A-side’ when it comes to fighting Tom Aspinall. The Englishman has been calling for this fight, and even Dana White believes that this is the fight to make. However, the heavyweight champion has continued to stress his demands of being compensated well, and Aspinall has no doubts that the UFC CEO will do what’s needed to be done, even if it may not benefit him in all aspects.
Jon Jones’s ask for the UFC to pay him “f**k you” money has gone viral to such an extent that even British news media personality Piers Morgan brought it up during a recent interview with the interim heavyweight champion. Before getting down to all the pleasantries and a punching machine contest, the interim champion revealed that he’s not sure how much Dana White will pay Jon Jones or if he’ll give in to ‘Bones’ demand. But he’s sure that his payout won’t be anywhere near the undisputed heavyweight champion.
“I can’t speak for Dana [White], but I would imagine so [that Jones will get paid well],” Tom Aspinall told Piers Morgan. “No [I won’t make nearly as much as Jones].” But is money really the motivation for the 31-year-old? Well, that doesn’t seem to be the case because the self-proclaimed ‘Honey Badger’ is vying for the title of the best heavyweight UFC fighter in the world, but not necessarily to be the greatest of all time.

“I don’t really care about money at this point. Obviously, I’ve got a family [and] I want to make as much money as I can. But to me, what’s more important is unifying belts,” Tom Aspinall added. “Jon often likes to talk about legacy, his history, and all this stuff. It’s not about Jon. It’s about the belt and I wanna be the unified champion.”
Despite Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall being touted as the biggest heavyweight stars in mixed martial arts, Francis Ngannou claims to hold that status. Moreover, there’s a growing rumor of an announcement that Dana White gave following UFC Tampa, could very well bring ‘The Predator’ back to the UFC picture.

UFC vet insinuates Francis Ngannou will fight the winner of Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall
Having traded multiple insults publicly, there’s absolutely no love lost between Dana White and Francis Ngannou. When the PFL’s founder, Donn Davis, mentioned having a cross-promotional event to set up the Jon Jones fight against the Cameroonian-French, the UFC CEO not only rejected the whole proposal but torched the whole promotion, claiming that they’re losing money.
Meanwhile, Dana White recently claimed that he’ll be making a major announcement that’s bound to leave MMA fans and journalists speechless. According to former UFC heavyweight fighter Brendan Schaub, White made certain speculations and analyzed certain developments, leading him to assume that Francis Ngannou would face the winner of Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall while claiming that the Cameroonian got “one fight left on his PFL contract.”

“No matter what he [Dana White] says, when I heard them like, ‘What could it be?’ The only thing that would blow me, like blow me hard, like b*st hard, would be if it’s Francis,” Brendan Schaub stated on his YouTube channel. “Francis is going to fight the winner, guaranteed winner, of Aspinall-Jones.’ That would blow me. But that’s where I’m at. That’s very difficult to get done. Outside that, what else could it be?”
Francis Ngannou has been openly calling for the Jon Jones fight, which was the original plan for Jon Jones’ pre-2023 return. It remains to be seen how Tom Aspinall’s plans pan out because we are yet to have a date for the highly anticipated heavyweight clash.
