Tom Aspinall became the UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion at UFC 295 after beating Pavlovich. He took on the fight on concise notice after Jon Jones pulled out of the main event. Initially, Jones and Stipe Miocic were scheduled to headline the main event. However, ‘Bones’ suffered a significant injury during his wrestling practice, forcing him to leave the fight.

Jones will probably return to the Octagon in 2024 after recovering from his injury. With Aspinall being the interim champion, the match-up between him and Jones is highly expected. However, the 30-year-old is not sure as of yet. In a recent episode of the True Geordie show, he said: “I’m in a bit of a sticky situation now with the politics of the UFC kind of thing. Whom I am gonna fight next and should I defend an Interim, should I fight Stipe, should I fight Jon Jones. What should I wait it out? Man doesn’t matter what you say, people are always going to f….ing jump on you.”

With Aspinall waiting to defend his title, another legend of the sport, Stipe Miocic, is also ready for his fight against ‘Bones.’ The fans also have mixed opinions regarding the next fight. However, there has been no official announcement regarding Jones’ next fight. It will be interesting to see who gets the nod in this situation.
