The UFC’s flyweight division might be one of the fastest and most entertaining divisions in the entire UFC. At UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs Daukas at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, flyweight contenders squared off against each other in a pivotal matchup.

In a close and entertaining fight, City Kickboxing product Kai Kara-France edged out Askar Askarov. Throughout the bout, both fighters pushed the pace and entertained the fans with high-level mixed martial arts.
Thus, many fighters were quick to jump on the show put on by the flyweights and praise the level of UFC’s flyweight division and the winner, Kara-France.

UFC featherweight champion and teammate of the winner of the exciting flyweight bout, Alexander Volkanovski, also gave his reaction.

Even the veteran bantamweight UFC fighter, Brian Kelleher, appreciated the submission defense from the City Kickboxing fighter. ‘Boom’ also praised ‘Don’t Blink’ for putting on a striking heavy performance despite the constant grappling from Askarov.

The bout was highly entertaining and appeared as the number one contender’s fight. However, it was not the case.
UFC is looking to book Moreno vs. Figueiredo, even after UFC Columbus flyweight bout
MMA Journalist Ariel Helwani recently reported a potential fourth fight between the two best flyweight fighters, the champion Deiveson Figueiredo and former champion Brandon Moreno, for the UFC flyweight championship is in the works. The fight could go down in July.
Figgy-Moreno 4 is next. Hopefully July.

Even Kai Kara-France asked for his championship fight after the win over the number 2 ranked flyweight. However, it appears he would’ve to wait for some time.
