Sean O’Malley greatly impressed Rogan with the masterclass he displayed against Sterling. While doing the commentary for the match, he exclaimed, “It’s a great stoppage, but you want to give the champion a chance to recover. However, what a picture-perfect right hand by Sean O’Malley!”
He proceeded to relish the match’s highlights a day after the fateful showdown while engaging in some cardio. As the second round commenced, Sterling started with a body kick, but O’Malley slipped while trying to counter. Sterling then tried a takedown, but O’Malley defended and created distance. Sterling managed to land a jab as O’Malley circled away.
The fight took a sudden turn when Sterling rushed in and got hit with a precise counter right from O’Malley. Sterling fell to the ground, and O’Malley followed up with a series of accurate ground strikes. Referee Goddard briefly halted the action to allow Sterling to recover, but O’Malley’s unrelenting assault prompted Goddard to intervene and pronounce ‘Sugar’ Sean as the victor.
