Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. And one of the main reasons for this, according to the Dagestani, was his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. The elder Nurmagomedov established his prowess as a sambo coach. He set Khabib on his martial arts journey from a young age, instilling discipline and abilities in his son.

Famously, he even had Khabib wrestle bear cubs in order to toughen up his son and improve his grappling skills. And Khabib’s former AKA gym coach, Javier Mendez, has paid tribute to Abdulmanap on social media.
