Georges St-Pierre recently graced Henry Cejudo and Kamaru Usman‘s podcast Pound4Pound. He spoke about many things regarding his career and the way that things ended for him. However, perhaps one of the most striking revelations was when he said he wasn’t fond of fighting.
“I’m going to tell you something, guys. I never liked it. I never liked to fight.” He said. “I liked the, the sport, the science of it I liked to go train in the gym, the camaraderie of that I have with my training partner, the science of it, the freedom that fighting gives me the, you know the, the, the money the, the access of things that others doesn’t have. “
He continued, “This I love it but the grind of knowing you’re going to fight Saturday night against that killer that’s going to try to rip your head up I’m like no I don’t like it… ” Clearly, fighting is no joke, and fighters take big risks to their health every time they enter the cage.
Regardless, he remains one of the greatest to enter the cage with his knockout punches and fighting style. For him, other combatants can easily make it in the GOAT conversation. And during the very same podcast episode, Georges St-Pierre disclosed the fighters he considers the best. However, he gave the list of three GOATs who dominated the sport.
