The UFC 296 fight card was incredibly stacked, with both the fights inside and outside the octagon proving to be thrilling. Numerous noteworthy events took place at the event, and now Dana White has many decisions to make to address them.

The event concluded with shattered hearts for some and the triumphant glow of victory for others. The focal points of the event included Tony Ferguson’s loss, Stephen Thompson’s inaugural submission defeat, and the electrifying clash between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis that spilled beyond the Octagon. Dana White now faces numerous decisions, and it appears that the UFC head honcho will not be taking his time with this one.

The era of Tony Ferguson and Stephen Thompson might have ended with their defeat at UFC 296. Ferguson lost his battle to Paddy Pimblet and Thompson lost his to Shavkat Rakhmonov. Both the fighters have past their prime and might be looking toward retirement after this fight.

Ferguson has extended his losing streak to a seventh con͏secutive͏ loss. On the other hand, Thompson experienced his first career submission loss. The new era has ushered in fresh faces, seemingly displacing the old ͏veterans. So will the UFC and Dana White be looking toward the retirement of these legends? Well for the time being seems like White is firm on his stance about Ferguson’s retirement.

While having a conversation with the press after the event, White conveyed that he would like to see Ferguson retire. The UFC head honcho emphasized that ‘El Cuccy’ has been moving slower and slower with his fights and it’s better for him to retire. When he was questioned about the fate of Thompson, White asserted that it would be Thompson’s own decision to retire.

Dana White’s Potential Actions Following Strickland-Du Plessis Brawl

The in-cage battles were compelling, but an additional confrontation took place outside the octagon. Middleweight champion Sean Strickland, and title contender Dricus Du Plessis, slated to square off at UFC 297, engaged in a no-holds-barred brawl right in front of the public eye, just beyond the confines of the Octagon. Dana White and the officials had to intervene in order to defuse the situation. In the aftermath, Strickland had to be escorted outside the arena.

When discussing culpability for the situation, it becomes somewhat intricate given that Strickland initiated the attack, but Du Plessis sparked the feud. Dana White, however, has shouldered the blame himself. “What kind of an a****** sits Strickland next to du Plessis?” White said. “This a******, that’s who. I do the seating assignment for every week. Yep, [it’s on me]. I don’t know what kind of human you sit next to Strickland, but definitely not Du Plessis.” said White at the post-fight press conference.

The most logical action that Dana White might take against Strickland and Du Plessis would be a considerable fine. A fine is plausible considering the fact that both the fighters are slated to face each other next month. It must also be noted that White might be employing more security from now on, and paying more attention to the seating arrangements.

Will N3on actions cause Dana White to distance himself from influencers?

N3on’s actions pre-UFC 296 might have dented his relationship with influencers. N3on was halted from entering the event. White explained that the streamer’s exclusion from the event stemmed from his remarks leading up to the fight. In a live stream preceding the UFC 296 card, N3on had mentioned his intention to approach Donald Trump during the event. Despite having purchased tickets and arriving at the T-Mobile Arena, he was informed that he would not be permitted to attend.

“No what happened is he [Neon] said some stupid sh** on Instagram. And you know he bought tickets so he wasn’t anywhere close. When you start saying stupid sh** like that yeah you’re probably going to get busted up and thrown out of here, you know making threats and talking dumb sh**, looking for clout. I don’t care what he said. Well he wasn’t able to [confront Trump]. He’s this fu*ing tall too you know that fu*ing punk,” said Dana White at the post-fight conference.

Now the question arises: will this antic by N3on hamper White’s relationship with other influencers such as Theo Von, Nelk Boys, Adin Ross, and Stevewilldoit? Well, considering White’s character, the happening of this is probably nil. White may not hamper his relationship with other influencers, but from now on, he might stay vigilant around them.
