Go get some champagne to pop because it’s time for celebration. Bruce Buffer, the man dubbed as the ‘Voice of the Octagon’ has completed 29 years with the UFC. With his signature “Iiiiiiiiiiit’s Tiiiiiimme!!” he has been raising the entropy of the fighting community before each fight. After all, the way Buffer addresses the crowd is truly unique just to him. Securing the ‘Buffer 180’ for the main and co-main events further ups the game, don’t you agree? But what did the 67-year-old have to say about the big achievement?
Taking to Instagram, Buffer shared about 20 slides where he captured some interesting and nostalgic moments from his days with the UFC to date. In the caption, he recounted that it was 16 February 1996 when he first stepped into the Octagon to announce the preliminary rounds for UFC 8 in Puerto Rico. He went on, “I am both honored & very thankful to all whom I’ve met, announced & worked with on our incredible UFC Team over the years. My passion for announcing our great UFC Octagon Warriors to all the amazing UFC fans worldwide only gets stronger & stronger every year & I plan on roaring from the Octagon for many years to come.”
If you’re smiling and thinking of Buffer’s signature moves, then trust me, you’re not alone. Michael Bisping swooped down to the comments section to extend his feelings. He wrote, “Congrats brother. The voice of the octagon indeed!” The UFC play-by-play commentator, Jon Anik, commented, “The Man.” Even the social media face of the UFC, Nina Marie Daniele lifted Buffer up high. She commented, “You are one in a million Bruce! We are lucky to have you 🎙️❤️🙌”
