Sonnen said, “… if Conor was resisting one, if he’s been offered, we’re making a huge leap here. I don’t think Conor’s phone has even rang, other than to say ‘hey, can you give me an update? How are you feeling?'”
“I don’t think there’s been any conversations of a date, a venue, and or an opponent, I don’t think. Be a hard secret to keep. So if Conor isn’t going the direction of Jorge Masvidal, I think that Conor will fully agree with all of us, that is the biggest night of business, and our matchups work, and yeah, maybe it doesn’t have anything to do with rankings and maybe there’s no title on the line.”
“I don’t even need to bring the BMF belt, but we will close out the night. We will do something spectacular that people will talk about … If Conor isn’t attracted to that and leaning in that direction, it would make me speculate that he is looking at something else.”
Sonnen further went on to say that McGregor has not revealed what he has been looking for. Hence, the retired fighter finds it difficult to guess.

Does Conor McGregor want to fight Charles Oliveira instead of Jorge Masvidal?
The UFC lightweight title remains vacant after Charles Oliveira was stripped for being half a pound heavier. Further, with him submitting Justin Gaethje, he made sure there would be no new champion. Post the fight, ‘Do Bronx’ called out Conor McGregor.
Sonnen said, “The mere fact that Oliveira is asking for McGregor, not only saying I would do it, going a step further and saying I want to do, please let me do it. Help me to do it. If you’re Conor McGregor, you’ve got to take a good look at the world title fight. … those don’t come along very often.”
