Sergei Pavlovich was on a straight 6 fight winning streak and that changed after he encountered Tom Aspinall at UFC 295 with the interim heavyweight title at problem. Since then, his winning streak has not been maintained and now he has lost to not only his training partner but his friend Alexander Volkov. Pavlovich was not very happy about it and even shoved his opponent when he came in for a handshake.

However, it seems like he is pretty affected by the loss and decided to write an emotional letter for his fans.

Sergei Pavlovich breaks silence on his loss

The 18-3-0 record holder recently came clean on his emotions regarding his loss in a UFC Saudi Arabia fight against his friend. He posted a picture on Instagram of himself wounded and said, “It wasn’t my day; nothing went according to plan. I was ready for anything, but I was too focused on getting a knockout and took too many unnecessary hits. The result was a loss by points. This was very emotional and tough for me, especially knowing that I didn’t meet your expectations. Thank you all for your support! I promise to come back stronger and wiser.”

Volkov was on a three-fighting streak, and now he has the fourth one in the bag. However, this fight was not supposed to happen with Pavlovich. Not only did the fight happen, but their camaraderie seems to have taken a hit after the bout.

Volkov won the fight and when he went to shake hands with his opponent/friend, Pavlovich shoved him and did not receive his handshake. This did not sit well with the UFC fans and they commented on the incident.

He had an incredible career with UFC till now and all six of his victories were achieved in the first round by KO. However, his last two fights were not good and lacked the shine. This fight seemed like he was not giving his all and ultimately he lost.

This made him pretty mad, and he said some foul words to his opponent and even shoved him when Volkov tried to make a truce. Fans were not happy about this exchange at all and commented on his behavior. Fans wrote things like, “Pavlovich is a scam,” and complained about his lack of sportsmanship.
