UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko is the ideal candidate if one would ever think which female MMA star would seamlessly slot into a film. ‘Bullet’, one of the most dominant fighters in the world, will make her Hollywood bow opposite Halle Berry.
Shevchenko will appear in the movie Bruised and will be one of the main rivals of Halle Berry’s character.

In a recent interview, she talked about the experience of working with Berry, given how much she respects the sport. ‘Bullet’ said, “I feel it’s a great opportunity. It’s something big in my career as well. And definitely to see Halle Berry, the super movie star, being involved in mixed martial arts so deeply… It means that martial arts every day, every single day, is striking to the next levels.”

The UFC women’s flyweight champion also talked about the big fight scene in the movie and revealed how difficult it was to pull her punches.
She said, “This was the longest five-round I ever had. Usually, it’s five rounds, five minutes, 25 minutes, that’s it. But that time we had like full five days of five rounds fight. And yes, it’s totally different work. Because me being a professional fighter but in the same time playing in the movie, I want to hit hard to look like it is with full power. But in the same time, give a lot of confidence to Halle that she can trust me.”
The movie will come out on 24th November 2021 on Netflix.
Halle Berry details what it felt like to work with Valentina Shevchenko
The Hollywood movie star has never hidden her love for the sport of MMA. Berry was even present at one of the biggest events of the year, UFC 268. She oversaw the ceremonial weigh-in face-off between Rose Namajunas and Zhang Weili and also presented the belt to the winner at Madison Square Garden.
Berry, during an interview, talked about how it felt during the weigh-in face-off. She said that she loved the sport and the intensity. While talking to Jimmy Kimmel, she revealed how it felt to work with a champion like Valentina Shevchenko.

Berry said, “Valentina Shevchenko, she’s like the current UFC flyweight champion… At first, she wasn’t connecting with her kicks and finally I said, you got to do it. I have to feel it. I’ve never done this. That’s why you’re here. Give it to me, and so she gave it to me. She broke two ribs.”

Shevchenko, in her MMA career, is currently on an eight-fight win streak, and talks about a trilogy fight with Amanda Nunes are picking up.
