Khabib Nurmagomedov appeared on the Hotboxin’ Podcast of Mike Tyson along with the co-host, Henry Cejudo. Naturally, while chatting, the name Conor McGregor came up. ‘The Notorious’ recently broke his ankle in his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

Nurmagomedov took to Twitter after that and congratulated Poirier for his win. “Good always defeats evil. Very happy for @DustinPoirier I hope you will get the belt end of the year,” wrote Nurmagomedov. That attracted McGregor’s attention, and he came up with a response that mocked Nurmagomedov’s father.

‘The Eagle’ lost his father Abdulmanap in 2020. It was an unfortunate occurrence that prompted his retirement from the sport. The Irish fighter later took down that tweet.

Looking back at that incident, Nurmagomedov explained what he thought of McGregor’s claims. The Dagestani fighter believes those words only show McGregor’s true persona.

When he talked about this, only evil can talk about your father, wife, kids, religion. If you’re normal human, you’re never going to talk about this stuff.—- When someone is not with us- he is not even alive- this shows what you have inside. This shows how dirty you are,” said the undefeated Russian.

Will Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor ever reconcile?

The bad blood between Nurmagomedov and McGregor has boiled over even after their fight. Also, the latest incident goes to show that both men carry a certain amount of animosity toward the other. However, Nurmagomedov’s father, Abdulmanap, promised to invite McGregor over to their house and end the feud.

But the chances of that type of thing happening are slim to none. And the latest exchange will further increase the hatred they possess for the other. Fans wanted to see the duo share the Octagon once more as they both are two of the biggest superstars in the UFC’s history. But with ‘The Eagle‘ retired and ‘The Notorious‘ not being the same fighter anymore, those expectations might not come to fruition.
