When it comes to “The Notorious” Conor McGregor, there is no predicting what he will be up to. True to his moniker, McGregor seems to be forever in the news for his in-ring and off-ring activities. Most people would think of an aggressive personality similar to the one he portrays inside the MMA ring. However, from time to time, we can see another side of the two-time champion.
In a promotional fan video posted on the UFC subreddit, we see that Conor McGregor has an unusual visitor at his house. What happens next has left many of his fans surprised and delighted.
The video begins with “The Notorious” waving a young fan over to come inside his house. A voiceover from Dana White gives the background on how the meeting came to be. The young fan is an action figure artist, Samuel Romero. He makes action figures of athletes. Romero then shows McGregor his figurines and proceeds to show the action figurines he has made of McGregor. The Irishman is very impressed and offers to buy all the figurines. “The Notorious” pays the kid $1200. The boy’s open-mouth reaction says it all. However, the story doesn’t end there. Social media had a lot to say about the video.

This video has elicited varied responses from fans.

“This s**t makes me smile; we all wish we had that kind of income to make people genuinely smile when gifting them it. I wish this was more promoted then showing off a new car or chain or what ever the f***.”
“1200 at that age will seem like a million, always makes me smile seeing famous people be cool with kids, the boy will tell that story and show the video to his grandkids.”
Meanwhile, others took swipes at UFC boss Dana White. Lately, Dana White has been facing a lot of flak about alleged low payments to fighters. Fans showed that there was no love lost for White.
“Dana probably took the cash out his hands before he left the building”
“this is the first down payment kid, be back next week or you start paying points”
Another user wrote – “I’m surprised Dana didn’t call the police on that kid for infringement on UFC’s IP”
Yet, others resorted to funny comparisons about bank balance.
“Conor had more money in his pants pocket than I do in my retirement account.”
“I like that Conor casually walks around with my bank account in his pocket”
The other side of Conor McGregor?
Incidentally, this behavior of McGregor is in sharp contrast to his recent presence at the NBA finals in Miami.
During game 4 of the NBA finals, ‘The Notorious’ punched the Miami Heat’s mascot, Burnie, twice. This resulted in the mascot being sent to the emergency room of a local hospital. This incident was later disclosed as a pre-planned promotion for a pain relief spray. The man is reported to be doing well now and has been released from the hospital.
This led to criticism on social media, with comments such as:
“I don’t know if I should be laughing at this… poor Burnie”
