The fifth round proved fatal for Israel Adesanya
Joe Rogan started describing the proceedings of the fifth round. He stated, “The right hand, the uppercut, and now you got Stylebender and see trouble”. He was referring to Pereira’s brutal strikes, which were making it harder for Adesanya.
Rogan also said that ‘Izzy’ could be seen “trying to hang on and get to the buzzer”, but he eventually couldn’t. Rogan had noticed him and stated, “He’s wobbled, he’s hurt, he gets hit with that uppercut and then that left hook. The left hook was it.”
Alex Pereira’s ending blows were actually vicious. Given the stout physique of the Brazilian, the impact of those strikes could be well imagined.
Cormier agreed with Rogan, mentioning, “It froze him”. Looking at the slow-motion frames, Rogan further stated, “He’s just trying not to go out here.”
