Kamaru Usman is set to defend his UFC welterweight title against Colby Covington at UFC 268. This will be the rematch of their earlier fight, which happened at UFC 245 back in December 2019. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ had won that fight via a 5th round TKO to retain his title.

Now, as the fighters are set to face each other once again, many people have been sharing their views on the fight. Most people are confident in Usman’s abilities and believe that he will win this fight as well. However, Covington is also no slouch and can give a good fight to ‘The Nigerian Nightmare.’

Recently, during an interview, Khabib Nurmagomedov was asked to share his views on the upcoming fight. ‘The Eagle‘ talked about how he believes in Usman, but is aware that ‘Chaos’ is a great fighter as well.

He said, “This is the most difficult fight that Kamaru Usman can have at 170lb. We recently met in Dubai, I spoke to him about it. He understands this fully. He’s training hard.”

While Nurmagomedov is aware that the fight is not going to be easy, he believes in Usman’s fighting abilities. ‘The Eagle’ said, “I think he has a good chance of winning this fight. His striking has improved since their first fight, he’s knocking everybody out. However, Covington is very tough. Maybe some people dislike him, some like him, but he knows how to fight, he’ll bring it.”

Can Colby Covington defeat Kamaru Usman this time around?

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has been outstanding in every one of his fights and has performed admirably. However, that does not mean that the fighter will find it easy to defeat ‘Chaos.’

Covington has been working with a new team and since their last fight has improved on various aspects of his game. The fighter has particularly worked on moving his head and not letting any punch go unpunished.

Therefore, even though the UFC champion will still be the favorite to win the fight, he can expect a challenge from Covington.
