Khabib Nurmagomedov is one name that naturally comes into our mind when we speak of Dagestani wrestling. The former UFC Lightweight champion brought to the forefront the high-pressure fighting style that is a reflection of his wrestling style. One of the reasons for his immense success could be that he spent his entire childhood wrestling.
He recently shared a clip of a Dagestan kid crying his heart out after losing a wrestling match. Nurmagomedov clearly wanted to send a message through the clip of that kid. The message being that Dagestani kids grow up differently than the world!

The 34-year-old has time and again talked about how wrestlers in Russia are superior to their American counterparts. As per Nurmagomedov, it is a constant in their lives and fans wouldn’t disagree considering there’s even a clip of a young ‘Eagle’ grappling with a bear.

In the video re-shared by Nurmagomedov on his Instagram story, a young kid was seen crying in what looked like a wrestling tournament. The child, probably around 10 or 11 years of age, is eventually seen getting consoled by his mother.
Khabib added the text “This is how Dagestan Kids grow up” while sharing the clip.

Khabib Nurmagomedov might have brought Dagestan into the limelight, but wrestling has always been a part of the soul of the region long before that. The region has produced multiple Olympic medalists, with Abdulrashid Sadulaev being one of the most recent ones.
