He also mentioned how the biggest ticket sales record was held by Rock legend Bruce Springsteen, which was $5 million. However, this time, the UFC did over seven million in ticket sales. White said, “We broke the all-time gate record here. Bruce Springsteen just played here and did five million. We did over seven million.”
Furthermore, he mentioned that Boston is one of the biggest sporting cities in the world. Besides the excitement surrounding their own sports teams, the UFC proved to be a big sport in the city. Dana White believes that it is all because of Sean O’Malley headlining the pay-per-view.
The UFC president further added, “The Boston Garden.. the craziest f***ing sports town on Earth other than their own team that plays here, we’re the biggest thing that’s ever been here. What does that tell you about O’Malley?” Furthermore, Dana White already thinks that O’Malley is one of the biggest draws in the promotion.
