There are few fighters who remain fan favorites despite lacking the belt or an active win streak. Instead of titles and records, they are known for their “anytime-anywhere-anyone” attitude. Dana White Contender Series alumni, Kevin Holland, is one of them.

The former middleweight is known for not backing down from any challenge, no matter how impossible it sounds. Something that he has proven time and time again. From stepping up for a fight at the last moment to accepting horrible matchups on short notice, the Californian has done it all. Keeping true to his warrior spirit, Holland has recently come up with another shocking proposal.

In one of his recent Instagram stories, Kevin Holland has proposed a 175 lb catchweight bout with Jack Della Maddalena. This declaration comes after the Australian’s bout with Sean Brady got scrapped after his American rival sustained an undisclosed injury. Scheduled for the UFC 290 event, the fight was expected to be a banger, considering the stellar record of the two.

But after Brady was admitted to the hospital, the fight was called off, serving as a major blow to the card. Now, at the last moment, Kevin Holland has stepped in to replace Brady on the card. All of this without canceling his already scheduled bout with Michael Chiesa. On his Instagram story, Holland wrote:

“July 10th, I’m gonna check my weight, I think I can make it, 170, no problem, hell, matter of fact… Chiesa fight? Let me fight both of these guys at 175. 175 July 10th? Scrap that one, then the next one? July 29th, 175, two fights, You know who the real BMF is around this mother*cker.”

This isn’t the first time “The Trailblazer” is acting as the card saver of the UFC. Previously, Holland had accepted many fights on short notice. In fact, he went on a five-fight win streak in 2020 after a flurry of short-notice fights. Last year, he even accepted a fight against a total mismatch in the form of Khamzat Chimaev. Even though he got finished early in that fight, he won many fans due to his spirit.

What makes this proposal special is the fact that he is already scheduled to fight for UFC 291. For those unaware, Kevin Holland is all set to face Michael Chiesa at the July 30th event. This leaves him with just three weeks between the two bouts, in case his proposal gets accepted. Once again, showcasing his signature “anytime-anywhere-anyone” attitude.

Fans react to the ‘mad’ proposal

In no time, Kevin Holland’s “mad” proposal to save the UFC 290 card went viral on the internet. As expected, fans wasted no time and came out with their reactions on the matter. Here are some of the selected ones from Instagram:

As expected, most comments were applauding Kevin Holland:

“And what if I told you, Kevin Holland was simply ‘him’.”

“He earned his Dana White Privilege.”

“Is Kevin Holland the real BMF?”

“This guy is what Chimaev thinks he is.”

Some even came with their predictions:
