What’s bigger? Conor McGregor‘s great return or Super Bowl LVIII? One has been teased since 2023 and the other just kicked off. McGregor is on the grounds of the Super Bowl with his family and how could he miss his chance of dropping yet another breadcrumb about his return?
‘The Notorious’ demanded a main event announcement from Dana White that featured him on the card. And with rumors of White actually announcing it during the Super Bowl going around, will he actually get the wish? Perhaps White has been cooking something with the Irishman after all. That could explain his presence and then, his tweet.

Conor McGregor took to his X handle mere hours ago to address the game. In the post, he can be seen wearing a purple suit with his son as they explore the field. ‘The Notorious’ took out some time to announce his return to the cage this Summer.
“Super Bowl Sunday is one of the biggest sporting days for my friends in the States, second only to the Mac’s return to the octagon this summer! Good luck to the 49ers and the Chiefs, leave something in Vegas for me.” He wrote much to the dismay of some fans who seemed frustrated with the delays in the announcement.

While some were still in disbelief, others wanted him to sign a contract.
Stop talking about fighting and sign a contract. Going on a year since you and Chandler coached on the ultimate fighter. You keep throwing out dates and then nothing.

Yet others believed McGregor overestimated his own presence at the sporting event.

It looks like fans are still not convinced of McGregor’s return. Perhaps it has much to do with White’s hesitation and the Irishman’s illusive comments and announcements from earlier this year. The two might have to give the fans something solid to get them to trust them again.

Dana White’s documentary-worth UFC 300 drama
Dana White recently went to the Full Send Podcast and after being nudged a lot finally gave some interesting insight on UFC 300. According to the UFC head honcho, things may just turn out exactly how he wants or completely different. It would seem there is no in-between.
He also noted that UFC 300 and setting it up has had so many twists and turns that someone could be behind the scenes making a documentary about it live. Either way, pulling together the main-event and the co-main seems like a struggle for the boss.

Will it finally feature Conor McGregor? Perhaps we’re merely hours away from actually finding out. Regardless, the hype around the big main event has been endless and maybe it’s just a little too strong for some fans. Is the main event too good to be true? One can just hope it leaves the fans satisfied. If not, there’s always a bottle of oil lying somewhere in the corner.
