The world of mixed martial arts was shaken to the roots when Bryce Mitchell let his pro-Hitler comments go public. Not only did he receive lashings from the fight fans, but even Dana White was pretty upset about it. Nevertheless, realization about his insensitive remarks came in early, and he was quick to apologize publicly. However, the damage was done. With accusations of being a Nazi flying around, Mitchell braced himself for his next fight against Jean Silva at UFC 314. But his recent controversial comments seemed to have preceded and he received nothing but boos at the UFC 314 press conference. Needless to say, things got pretty heated at the event.
During the press conference, a reporter asked Mitchell if he wanted to address anything to the crowd. It was indeed his first public appearance following the controversies. And of course, hearing boos for a star fighter isn’t common in the UFC. But ‘Thug Nasty’ decided to make it worse. He said, “And Jesus said, ‘Remember, if the world hates you, they hated me first. Is the servant greater than the master?’”
The Brazilian featherweight began to cut in as soon as Mitchell began to speak. He started chanting “F— Bryce Mitchell!” and had the fans join in. The disrespect was real, and Silva was totally in for trolling Mitchell’s previous words. Remember the time when ‘Thug Nasty’ claimed that the world was flat? Well, to prove him wrong, Silva brought a globe to the event. Nevertheless, Mitchell remained stoic. But when Silva started making some noise, he said, “You’re barking up the wrong tree motherf—!”

Fight fans choose their favorite as Bryce Mitchell and Jean Silva share some heat at UFC 314 press conference
The fighting community has been watching Mitchell dominate the MMA cage with 17 wins and just 2 defeats. On the other hand, Silva was 2 wins behind ‘Thug Nasty’. And the fans had already witnessed the kind of heat Mitchell brings to the Octagon. No doubt, most fans trusted Mitchell’s skills to get him the win. It was indeed Silva’s disrespect that got him the ‘L’ from the netizens. One fan wrote, “All that just to get choked out by Bryce 😂.” One fan pointed out, “You lose all credit when all you do is talk over people, Chad Bryce stay stoic.” The story continued with fans standing up for Mitchell. “Unrespectful Silva. Now I hope Bryce get the W,” read another comment. One more fan added, “The Bryce interview after he chokes silva unconscious is going to be gold!”
The elephant in the room was indeed Mitchell’s controversial words. While Dana White stood in support of free speech, he wasn’t a fan of the featherweight’s comments. And that pushed the fight fans to believe that the UFC probably didn’t want Mitchell to speak. A comment read, “I don’t think even the UFC wanted Bryce to speak a word lol dude is a PR nightmare.” Meanwhile, a few others pointed out that ‘Thug Nasty’ was on the verge of breaking down. One fan wrote, “Looked like brice was ready to cry.” Another fan commented, “He’s gonna cry in the car.”
