Notably, the popular podcast also provides listeners with hot takes and a conversation encompassing humor, philosophical inputs, and recent developments. In one of the previous episodes, the famed director, Quentin Tarantino, addressed the concerns raised about his depiction of the ‘godfather’ of MMA, Bruce Lee.

The renowned director sat with the UFC commentator Joe Rogan in JRE #1675. As expected, the conversation involving the two revolved around the Hollywood movie. In addition, the duo touched upon the other noted personalities attached to the Hollywood industry.

Bruce Lee and his relationship with stuntmen

The reputed film director told Rogan that the stuntmen hated the Jeet Kune Do propagator. Further, he said, “Bruce had nothing but disrespect for stuntmen and he was always hitting them. He was always hitting them with his feet.”

Revealing that this hitting with the feet was called tagging, Tarantino revealed Lee was always tagging the stuntmen with his feet and fist. As a result, the stuntmen reached a breaking point, and they refused to work with him.

The 55-year-old commentator followed this with an intriguing question, enquiring about Lee’s perspective if someone asked him to explain it.

Tarantino obliged while imitating Lee and maintained, “Uh, it’s like uh ‘wow they’re just not good enough. They’re, they’re p*ssies. Hmm, I’m gonna make it look real’.”

Earlier in the conversation, the color commentator referred to Tarantino’s 2019 Oscar-winning movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. However, the standup comic brought up the accusations of the director making Bruce Lee into an “a**hole” in the film.

Unfazed by the question, the 59-year-old replied, “I can understand his daughter having a problem with it. It’s her f*****g father. I get that, but anybody else, go suck a d*ck.”

Further, he detailed how the character, Cliff Booth, played by Brad Pitt, tricked Lee. Thus, the American director continued and mentioned that Booth had a method, and the method involved giving the other guy the first fall.

Later on, Tarantino pointed out that Lee realized he got tricked. In addition, he suggested that if Booth, whose primary occupation in the movie was of a stuntman, hadn’t been so vicious, Lee could have even appreciated it.
