Joe Rogan is no doubt a fight enthusiast. He enjoys combat in comparison to other sports. The UFC commentator is himself trained in jiu-jitsu and kickboxing. ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcaster once even spoke about how MMA wasn’t really that big back then and people didn’t have a good reaction when he talked about it.

“I was talking to people at work and they would act like I was doing po*n,” he said, as per ‘SI’.
“I was on a sitcom and flying all over the country on the weekends doing these cage shows.”
Rogan had to travel to rural places to continue with his UFC gig in the early days. Since he was losing money because of it, he decided to quit. However, he returned to the promotion once again, and it’s only been uphill since then. But Rogan feels it was his luck.

According to ‘SI‘, getting involved got him interested in learning jiu-jitsu. While he has been training his whole life, it looks like jiu-jitsu is his all-time favorite as he can be heard talking about it all the time.
Today, the color commentator commentates on US-based PPV events. His cage-side reactions are cherished by his fans; especially when a crazy knockout or submission takes place.

Rogan has received training in several forms of fighting. In his youth, he has been a four-time Massachusetts taekwondo champion. In addition to this, he also knows Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai.
Years ago, the commentator got his 10th Planet jiu-jitsu black belt from Eddie Bravo. It was an emotional moment for him and he was seen in tears. Thus, while he doesn’t compete, his achievements in combat sports is commendable.
