At this point, Joe Rogan might be one of the most talked about celebrities on the internet and MMA community. The UFC commentator and comedian has reached the pinnacle of fame with his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, where he hosts celebrities, athletes, and experts of different domains. But before Rogan was famous and hosted the who’s who of the world, he worked as a security guard.

This was revealed in the latest episode of his podcast. The 55-year-old revealed he was a security guard at Great Woods in Mansfield, MA, back when he was 19 years old. This time he was joined on his podcast by Josh Dubin and Bruce Bryan.
Amidst the conversation, the three found themselves talking about the misuse of power and authority by the people. During the talks, Bryan revealed the unpleasant encounter he had with a bouncer one time he was in a restaurant. It was at this point Rogan revealed his past job and how he witnessed the shift in the attitude of people once they were given the position of authority. He further added how it requires a person to be ‘extraordinary’ to not abuse a position of authority which according to him most people aren’t. In Rogan’s words:

“They were all they all didn’t listen yet yell at them. You have to tell them what to do and there was a culture of doing that these people behaved almost exactly the way you describe in the Stanford Prison Experiment or you describe with cops and on some occasions these people they were terrible to these people and it was normal.”
Joe Rogan thinks Francis Ngannou leaving UFC is a big loss for the promotion
Back in January, former heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou parted ways with UFC following a failed contract negotiation. Since then, both the promotion and fighter have resumed their journeys in combat sports further. Jon Jones became the new UFC heavyweight champion and the ‘ Predator’ is now signed with PFL. In this time frame, both Dana White and Ngannou had been critical of each other on any opportunity the two got.

I’m happy he’s going to get paid, I’m happy he’s going to get to the box, but I loved watching this guy fight in the UFC. He was a f*cking monster”
