Francis Ngannou vs. Jon Jones is a fight that captured the fans’ imagination, only to fizzle out in the end. Despite being in negotiations for a long time, ‘The Predator’ failed to find favorable terms for a renewal. Thus, it was an ugly breakup when the heavyweight fighter parted ways with the UFC. The champion bowed out with stinginess in his heart, and the fans were deprived of a blockbuster fight. However, it seems Joe Rogan is still hopeful for a miracle and some unloading of cash.
Since leaving the UFC, the Cameroonian-French fighter has penned a deal with PFL and is currently in the headlines with his fight against Tyson Fury. It was the freedom to realize his boxing dreams that also became a hurdle in the meeting of minds with the UFC. Meanwhile, ‘Bones’ currently holds the heavyweight strap that once belonged to Ngannou. While those two appear to be going in different trajectories, Rogan imagines them colliding at UFC 300.

Joe Rogan still hopeful about Jon Jones vs. Francis Ngannou
The color commentator expressed his desire when he appeared in the JRE Fight Companion. Talking to Brendan Schaub, Bryan Callen, and Sam Tripoli, he expected some “shenanigans” post-Fury fight, and that’s where the UFC jumps in with the suitcase.
“My hope is that Francis fights Tyson Fury, gets the big money, and then there is some shenanigans. Gets into the contract. They [UFC] bring him back. They offer him big money to fight Jon Jones after Jon Jones beats Stipe [Miocic]. UFC 300, Jon Jones, Francis Ngannou. Let’s go,” Rogan declared.
Following this, the famed podcaster also pointed out that handing a lucrative contract to Ngannou would be “smart”. He believed the Ngannou-Fury fight would be gigantic and worth breaking the bank to capitalize on. “Here is the thing: the UFC would be smart to do that too. Because the Tyson Fury fight is going to be gigantic. It’s going to be a big cultural fight,” Rogan concluded.
However, things are not as easy as Rogan has presented them. So what is the hurdle in Ngannou’s homecoming to the UFC? UFC President Dana White‘s comments drop a hint.

Dana White’s candid answer to Francis Ngannou’s UFC return
After Ngannou’s departure, his relations with the UFC head honcho have strained beyond repair. “It’s over… He’ll never be in the UFC again. I never say never. But I’ll give you a never on that one. We tried,” White announced at the UFC 285 presser.

Therefore, it appears the fight between Jones and Ngannou is currently a distant fantasy. But strange things have happened in the past. Who wouldn’t pounce on a probable fight between the two baddest men on the planet? That’s the logic Rogan is relying on.
