Alex Pereira is one of the most dangerous strikers to step into the Octagon. The former 2-weightclass Glory Kickboxing champion has earned a reputation for his devastating left hook and one-shot knockout power. He made his UFC debut at UFC 268. With his prior history against then UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya in kickboxing, it was only a matter of time before the two men faced each other inside the cage. Pereira took the title from Adesanya at UFC 281 by finishing him in the fifth round of the title fight.

Now, he has set his sights on another weight class in the UFC after losing the middleweight title to Adesanya in a rematch at UFC 287. Pereira will be facing Jiri Prochazka at UFC 295 for the vacant light heavyweight belt. ‘Poatan’ however recently took to social media to share an update about a new addition to his family. In summary, Alex Pereira’s ability to infuse humor and authenticity into his online presence has garnered the admiration of fans, further contributing to his appeal in the eyes of his supporters! Jiri Prochazka thinks ‘Poatan’ is lacking in certain martial arts skills

The light-heavyweight division has witnessed multiple title changes ever since Jon Jones vacated in 2020. Jiri Prochazka secured his position as champion after beating Glover Teixeira at UFC 275. However, he was forced to vacate the title after he suffered a bad shoulder injury. The belt was then secured by Jamahal Hill but he too suffered an injury and now the title is up for grabs again at UFC 295.

Prochazka recently revealed in an interview that he believes that Alex Pereira is lacking in certain areas of mixed martial arts. He even stated that “he’s (Alex) not a good martial artist like on the ground, on the wrestling…”. But he still acknowledges the danger ‘Poatan’ brings to the striking part of the fight.

Both fighters are fan favorites for their thrilling and action-packed fighting styles. And with Prochazka holding a win over Pereira’s training partner and mentor, Glover Teixeira, the bout might even be a chance of revenge for Pereira.
