With ͏a gate r͏evenue of $22 mi͏lli͏on͏, UFC 306͏ b͏eca͏me͏ the highest-gro͏ssing event in the promotion’s history. Additionally, da͏ta reports also revealed that merchand͏ize sales soared.͏ The UFC CEO Dana White was initially criticized for his determination to sport an event at the $2-billion dollar Sphere, however, once it was done, the MMA community demanded more fights inside the Sphere and Jon Anik is one of the voices who want to go back to the sphere as well.
While in conversation on the ‘Between the Links’ podcast, Anik emphasized that he would like to witness more fights like UFC 307 and UFC 308 inside the Octagon, “When you look at the fight cards for UFC 307 and UFC 308 on paper, Jose Aldo’s fighting on the prelims in Salt Lake City, UFC 308 — I don’t say this hyperbolically — maybe the best fight card I’ve ever been assigned.”

He further added, “Go to Wikipedia and look up UFC 308. So just imagine, for a second, UFC 307 or UFC 308, on paper, Khamzat Chimaev vs. Robert Whittaker, at Sphere f*cking Vegas, and tell me we couldn’t effectively change the game forever. This was an amazing experience, I just think we need one more shot.”
Dana White made sure that the promotion set the bar so high that no other combat sports promotion could ever touch their dominance and that’s what they did with the UFC 306. The MMA community might be a bit judgemental when it comes to the fights but the visual experience that they got at the Sphere has induced them to call for more fights inside the Sphere.
Fans demand more fights inside the UFC Sphere from Dana White after Jon Anik’s confession
International Fight Week has been one of the most looked forward to events by fight fans in the realm of combat sports. It involves UFC Hall of Fame Inductions, fan expos, community events, fight cards, and many other things. It appears that the fans want something more to be added to it as well, what, you, might ask? Another social media fan is confused about Dana White’s stubbornness to not host another event at the Sphere. Well, the reason might be a bit different from what you might anticipate. “I don’t know why they are so against hosting again it was a massive success.” The UFC CEO is under contract with MGM for exclusive Las Vegas events “No, I’m under contract with MGM.I told you guys leading up to this, the way that this whole thing played out, tonight was meant to happen. It happened, we did it, we killed it …,” said Dana White.
Furthermore, another fan is hopeful about the event happening once again, “It’ll happen again. They invested too much into the tech to not do it again and probably for cheaper. Give it a year or a little bit more and they will be back.”
A fan highlighted that the visual presentation took the charm away from the fights. Well, it must be noted that the location should include high star power fights to keep the audience intrigued, “I think it took away from the fights. Like yes the presentation was amazing but having the background I’m sure a lot of people were just looking at the screen during the title fights lol.”
