Noche UFC saw an unusual result in the main event. The female flyweight title bout between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko ended in a draw, which many people believe was one of the judges’ errors. However, Dana White had earlier promised to rectify these mistakes, but such judgments still occur from time to time.
Grasso and Shevchenko went head-to-head in a five-round war. They both had answers for each other’s moves and tactics, which made it an exciting fight for the fans on Mexican Independence Day. The fight ended in a draw after Judge Mike Bell scored the contest 47-47. However, what surprised most people was the fact that the final round was scored by the judges as 10-8, which prompted the resurfacing of a video regarding Dana White.

In an interview from 2021, UFC CEO Dana White mentioned what the score 10-8 meant as he entered the fight business. He stated that the score represented one fighter demolishing the other. White said, “When I came up in the fight business, a 10-8 was an a** whooping.”

He further stated that a 10-8 is a result of a fighter being unable to do anything in the said round. He or she would have to get beaten down badly for that score to be recorded. “You got your a** whooped. You didn’t do shit in that round and got beat down if it was a 10-8,” the 54-year-old promoter added. Moreover, Dana White even promised to rectify these situations.
UFC CEO promised to save MMA from the judges’ wrong decisions
Dana White mentioned that he believes such scores should not be given every time and even promised to make it stop. It has become somewhat of a regular occurrence, and he believes that things are getting out of control. He added, “They gotta stop giving this. This 10-8 sh*t is out of control right now.”

The UFC CEO promised to make these things stop because such scores can often end up in wrong decisions. It could even make the wrong fighter emerge victorious. “So hopefully we can get this fixed and they’re gonna screw a lot of fights if they’re handing out 10-8s like that,” said Dana White.
