Joe Rogan has been a mixed martial artist for ages now. While the podcaster does not truly compete much anymore, he still has all the knowledge in his head that he accumulated over the years. A big part of being a martial artist is being in shape.

However, it’s not always possible for fighters or bodybuilders to get into an amazing shape without using PEDs. It’s possible, but difficult. Or at least that’s what Joe Rogan felt. In a recent edition of The Joe Rogan Experience, the commentator had a lot to say about how to get big without some substances and hormones.

Joe Rogan recalls Frank Grillo and his physique

Frank Grillo is an actor who may be most popularly known for playing Crossbones in Captain America: Civil War. The actor has played the bad guy in multiple Marvel films. And to star as such a character, Grillo had to be in shape. However, he just had one hitch in the way.

Grillo got himself tested and found that he had low testosterone levels. However, the actor continued working out to achieve the best shape he could. At age 58, he is still in incredible shape. Testosterone naturally decreases in the male body with age but Grillo did not let that stop him.

“Frank Grillo, like he was talking about how he has low testosterone,” said Joe Rogan. “And he got tested but he’s just a grinder. Look, girls get big. Girls get big that don’t do steroids. Girls that are powerlifters that are clean, they get big. It’s just not easy, it takes a long a*s time but you maintain it if you keep it.”

Clearly, Rogan knows the stakes when it comes to working out at an older age. However, he is of the opinion that getting big is possible as long as there is a certain kind of consistency. Women naturally don’t produce a lot of testosterone. However, they still get massive gains through effort over time.

This was after he had examined a cut on Walker’s head that came from Ankalaev landing an illegal knee. Walker was declared unfit but Rogan didn’t support that decision. “They should let them keep going,” Rogan said, unconvinced of the doctor’s decision. Would you have let the fight go on?
