Joe Rogan may be a multi-millionaire and the world’s top podcaster, but that does not mean his stocks have always been that high. No, we are not talking about the time he narrowly escaped being canceled. Most of you know that Rogan, outside of UFC commentary and podcasting, is also a stand-up comic. Now, the trouble with being a jack of all trades, like Rogan is, is that sometimes, one of those trades might harm another, like it did for him!
The 56-year-old gained fame as the host of the famous ‘Fear Factor’ alongside his other ventures in the UFC and stand-up comedy. However, trouble came knocking when Rogan parted ways with the reality show. As he prepares to shoot yet another live special for the OTT platform, Netflix, on the 3rd of August, Rogan recalled the story of how he was once fired from a well-known club during his early days as a stand-up comic. Let’s find out what exactly happened between the comic and the comedy club.

On episode #2175 of the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’, Rogan sat down together with a fellow stand-up artist, Sam Tallent. As the conversation continued, the duo were bound to talk about Rogan’s experience in the laughter realm. The beloved UFC color commentator has already performed live at 4 venues and released about 6 comedy specials on Netflix. However, the shocker came when the 56-year-old podcaster revealed a time when he was kicked out of a club.
It was around 2007 when Rogan used to perform at a well-known club. He had already gained popularity via his previous comedy performances and as a host for Fear Factor. Without a doubt, all his shows were sold out. However, the club officials didn’t seem content with the comedian.
Rogan recollected, “What I was going to say is there was a club that I, like when I, when Fear Factor had ended, they decided that I wasn’t, even though I’d sold out like every show, for like every time I had been there for years, they decided that I wasn’t a draw anymore. So, they tried to decrease my amount by 25%. And I ws like, ‘What the f*** are you talking about?’ They’re like, ‘We don’t think you’re a draw anymore.’ ‘But I sold out a year ago, when I was here. Like, what are you saying?’”

Luckily for him, his longtime friend and UFC CEO Dana White fiercely had his back. White threatened to quit his role as then-president of the promotion is anyone were to touch Rogan.
