Ciryl Gane recently suffered his second-ever loss in his professional career at UFC 285, handed to him by Jon Jones, who made a comeback to the octagon after a long hiatus of three years. Jones moved up to heavyweight to take on the Frenchman, who fell short in their encounter. While the MMA world is showering accolades on ‘Jonny Bones’ for his remarkable comeback, it is not the same for ‘Bon Gamin’. He is rather disheartened by this loss.

Amidst all this, an old video of Khabib Nurmagomedov has resurfaced online, where he gave Gane a piece of advice if he wants to become a champion. This video is more relevant than ever today after the Frenchman’s upset against Jones, and it has caught the attention of many fans who have weighed their thoughts on the Russian’s proposal.

This resurfaced video is after Ciryl Gane‘s first-ever upset in his MMA career when he fought the ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou back in January last year. ‘The Eagle’ suggested ‘Bon Gamin’ move to Dagestan and polish his wrestling with them. Upon doing so, he could become a champion. This video is now making its way on social media again, and fans have a lot to say about that.

  • “Stay there 1.5-2 years lmaoooo they call that the Dagestan Prison Sentence”
  • “jon aint gonna be fighting for much longer anyway”
  • “In 3 years he will make Gane proficient enough in wrestling to defeat JBJ?”
  • “Thats really sweet of Khabib to invite Gane to Dagestan instead of shi**ing how bad his ground game was against Jones ge offered to help”
  • “If he doesn’t wanna live in Dagestan, just move to America. Or even Thailand. We know there’s killer gyms in Thailand, and khamzat trains there. He doesn’t need to become better than this version of Jones. Jones will either retire in a couple years or be old in general. It’s a perfectly possible task for Gane if he’s serious about being champ.”
  • “Gane should move to Montreal and make GSP train him to wrestle.”
  • “Gane is a striker. Even if he goes Dagestani mode for 2 years, i dont know if he can compete against those with over a decade of experience.”
  • “I thought Khabib doesn’t have time to do this anymore and wants to spend time with his family.”
  • “After his performance the other night, Gane doesn’t have the heart to train in the same county as these dudes let alone the same gym.”

At the UFC 285 post-fight press conference, Ciryl Gane answered questions from the media about his devastating setback at the hands of Jon Jones in Saturday’s main event and reflected on his ongoing emotions at the moment. “Disappointed, of course.”, Gane said.

He continued, “But the biggest feeling is, really angry about myself. Really angry. Because yes, we accepted this fight, it was not a short-notice, but the time was not too long. But, man, we worked a lot, we spent a lot of time in my camp, with my sparring partners. So, I’m really angry about myself because I spent a lot of time with my partners, my coaches, my family, and it don’t have a good reflect during the fight. So I’m really angry.”

This loss might stay longer with the Frenchman, and he certainly will take time to reassess where he went wrong, look for honing his skills, and come back strong.
