Colby Covington is inarguably one of the best trash talkers in the UFC. The former interim welterweight champion is infamous for having a feud with every other fellow fighter in the promotion.
However, when it comes to his fans, ‘Chaos’ is a different personality. He refers himself to as the people’s champion and claims that he fights for the people of America.
Recently, he sat in an interview with Submission Radio and talked about his frequent interactions with his fans on the internet. ‘Chaos’ said, “Yeah, I try to always keep it real, you know. There’s a reason they call me the people’s champ, you know.”

“And I’m just honored to, you know, be the people’s champion and fight for them. And just, you know, interact with them and keep it cool with them, you know.”
“I am not just some celebrity that just forgets where I came from. And the people got me to where I am and the people that keep me at where I am at. So you know I got nothing but love and respect for all the fans. And I’m gonna keep putting on good entertaining performances for them.”
‘Chaos’ is fresh from his defeat against the welterweight champion Kamaru Usman at UFC 268. This was the second time Covington faced a setback in his quest for the welterweight gold, but for ‘Chaos’, the journey goes on.
He wants another shot at the welterweight title against the Nigerian and is ready to do whatever it takes; even end his former friend’s UFC career.
Colby Covington wants to end Jorge Masvidal’s career
Following his defeat at the hands of ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ at UFC 268, ‘Chaos’ called out his fellow welterweight fighter Jorge Masvidal in the post-fight press conference.
Covington and Masvidal were good friends at the beginning of their careers. The friendship was so good that both the men even lived together under one roof. Unfortunately, things turned around, and now both the welterweight combatants share one of the most heated rivalries in the UFC.
In the interview, Covington demanded a fight with Masvidal and claimed that he would end ‘Gamebred’s UFC career in order to earn his third shot at the welterweight gold.
