Is Conor McGregor's reign of intimidation finally over with Ilia Topuria's bold threats?

Conor McGregor has been facing quite a bit of heat from the UFC fans and professionals owing to his absence from the Octagon. Instead of his usual pursuits, ‘Mystic Mac’ has chosen to immerse himself in the world of the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. Now, as the BKFC lands in Marbella, Spain, for one of the most humongous events in the history of bare-knuckle fighting, McGregor received yet another challenge from a fellow UFC fighter.

The undisputed UFC featherweight champion, Ilia Topuria, and McGregor have engaged in an online battle. But ‘El Matador’ has refused to fight McGregor. And now, it seems like Topuria has accepted the Irish mixed martial artist’s “on sight” challenge in Spain.

During an Instagram live, a fight fan asked the featherweight champion if he had anything to say to ‘Mystic Mac’. Little did the MMA realm know that one question would raise all hell against the Irish superstar. Topuria began, “F— you, Conor! All day, everyday!” Not too long ago, ‘The Notorious’ called out ‘El Matador’ and asked for a bare-knuckle fight in Marbella, on the 12th of October.

Even though Ilia Topuria is all set to defend his belt against the BMF champion at UFC 308, he simply couldn’t steer away from a challenge from Conor McGregor. He continued, “When Topuria meets McGregor, he’s just not on level. Not at all. Otherwise, I’d gladly plant these knuckles in his brain to fix it and straighten his nose. He says when I meet you, won’t even look me in the eye ‘cause you’ll s— yourself.”

But no trash talk with McGregor can proceed without a mention of his inactivity. And ‘El Matador’ knew that pretty well. He went on to diss the Dubliner’s role as a spectator at the BKFC event. Topuria said, “McChicken. On the 12th, he’ll be at an event in Spain while I’m on the frontlines, not as a spectator. I’ll be headlining an event. He’s been missing out on big time.”

But if you think that was it, you’d be so wrong! Topuria seemed to have a game plan ready for McGregor. The 27-year-old continued, “So deal with it, McGregor, f— you! Conor, I’ll dance on your head. Conor’s problem is I’ll slap these n-ts on his forehead. Right here. And I’ll warm him up with this. Then I’ll throw him down and stomp on his head. See you around, and let’s hope we don’t run into McGregor here, or there’ll be a funeral.”

Have an interesting take?

Even though McGregor’s name comes with a massive opportunity for earning millions of dollars, Topuria wasn’t initially interested in fighting the former UFC double champion. But he didn’t rule the Irishman out completely.

‘El Matador’ knows that ‘The Notorious’ has lost his former prowess

McGregor is not in his prime anymore. This is something that the entire world of mixed martial arts has been speculating about ever since the talks about him landing against Michael Chandler began breaking the internet. Pulling out due to a broken pinky simply gave a boost to those talks. And Topuria wasn’t oblivious to that.

Talking about the possibility of fighting McGregor, he said, “I know he is not who he was. He’s not the McGregor that moved the masses. He’s a McGregor who represents alcohol and dr-gs more than sport. I have been inspired by Conor. I admired him when I was little. And he has lost it because he has betrayed the values that have brought him (to the top). We have lost an idol.”

With McGregor’s popularity and current strength in mind, Topuria claimed that he would refuse to fight the former UFC double champion, in case the MMA promotion offered him the fight. The duo have continued to raise the heat between them on social media. And now, all eyes are set on the BKFC event as ‘El Matador’ took aim at the Irish star.
