‘There Is No Better Featherweight at the Moment’ – Giga Chikadze Makes a Bold Statement About Himself

Giga Chikadze has been performing incredibly well ever since he joined the UFC. The fighter is yet undefeated in the UFC and is currently riding high on a 9 fight win streak. In his latest outing at UFC Vegas 35, the fighter defeated Edson Barboza via a 3rd round TKO.

Ever since Chikadze’s impressive victory over Barboza, fans have taken greater notice of the fighter and are waiting to see when he competes next. While it is unclear when or who Chikadze will fight next, the fighter is pretty confident he will do well in his next fight.

‘Ninja’ believes that he is the best featherweight fighter in the UFC currently and wants to become champion soon. During a recent interview with ESPN MMA, he talked about the same. Chikadze said, “I believe there is not better featherweight at the moment in the division than me. This is the reason that I wanna get paid the same money as champions getting.”

“I wanna get the PPV points and I wanna make money. I am 33 years old and I wanna be the first Georgian UFC champion. The kids from Georgia killing it, probably they will soon take over.”

“I wanna be the first, it’s kind of a healthy motivation as I said earlier we have it in Georgia. I will be more than happy if somebody gets ahead and gets the title. But it’s been my dream always to become the first UFC champion.”

Who will Giga Chikadze fight next?

Chikadze has shown everyone that he is amongst the most talented fighters in the UFC at the moment. The fighter has been giving back to back impressive performances and has won 7 UFC fights in less than 2 years. Therefore, one can expect to see ‘Ninja‘ face some top-ranked opponents in his next fight.

A fight with former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway is also being touted. However, as Chikadze literally just fought, nothing has been finalized at this point in time.
