Former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez had a successful evening at BKFC 41. ‘The Underground King’ beat his former colleague and ex-UFC star Chad Mendes via split decision in their bout. The 39-year-old proved he was still the defiant fighter that he used to be by standing toe-to-toe with Mendes and securing the win.
One quintessential part of an Eddie Alvarez fight night is his wife. His spouse, Jamie Alvarez, is a constant presence in his fights and can be heard screaming his name in support. It was no different at BKFC 41, either. Mrs. Alvarez could be heard screaming over the crowd as her husband marched on with the task at hand.

Oftentimes, this has been the butt of many jokes from fight fans on social media. However, the former UFC champion sees no problem with his wife supporting him the way she does. In fact, he jumped to her defense when asked about the trolls during a recent interview.

Eddie Alvarez defends wife against trolls
Eddie Alvarez recently appeared on ‘The MMA Hour’ to discuss his BKFC 41 win and his plans moving forward. The former and first-ever Bellator lightweight champion addressed many questions from Ariel Helwani, including one about his wife’s antics during the fights.
Alvarez said, “Listen, that is my f***ing chick. And if anybody has anything to say they can go f***themselves…” He continued, “My wife’s been watching me fight- we met each other when we were 15 years old. We have four children together. I am her f***ing guy and if something happens to me, then you can feel her pain and feels what she’s feeling.”

He further added, “She has my four children, man. She’s my f***ing ride-or-die. So, like, she can’t control what’s going on, her yelling or her screaming, that’s how she feels. It’s genuine, so if you don’t like it, deal with it, but it’s f***ing genuine.”
Alvarez has been a champion in multiple promotions in his career. He has also delivered many memorable fights in these promotions. His wife was also in the audience, yelling her support, in many of these wins.
Evidently, the couple still have a strong relationship and is now a beautiful family of six. So fans and trolls can expect Mrs. Alvarez to be screaming in the audience for his subsequent fights as well.
