JRE is massively popular because of the diverse range of issues it discusses. Rogan maintains this same diversity in choosing his guests as well. In episode #1896, Rogan hosted statistician and director of the Copenhagen Consensus Center, Bjørn Lomborg.
Joe Rogan on young climate activists
Climate activists have been making headlines recently due to their method of protests. Several young activists attempted to defile famous paintings and glued themselves to the wall at U. K.’s National Gallery in October. Several such incidents followed suit in Germany and Italy.
$110M Monet painting in Germany, $179M Picasso work in Melbourne, and $84.2M Van Gogh painting at London National Gallery were targets. These collectively amount to 373.2 million worth.
Rogan and Lomborg discussed several topics, including the children and the youth of the modern world. Lomborg pointed out the need to recognize there are real problems that the world is facing today. However, he opined these problems did not mean that “the wheels are coming off.” “When you ask kids and young people, for instance, on climate change,” Lomborg said, “they’re terrified.”
Responding to Lomborg, Rogan said, “Yeah, that’s… an unfortunate thing. Because of a lot of these young kids that are glueing themselves to these paintings, they don’t have a real perspective. They’re like 18, 19 years old and they really think like they’re saving the world because their brains aren’t fully formed. And they’ve been like devouring propaganda like it’s cheesecake. That’s the problem.”
The former ‘Fear Factor’ host has condemned these acts by the activists on multiple occasions. He does not condone the vandalism of renowned art pieces in the name of activism.
Continuing the conversation, Rogan also gave a different take on the climate change debate.
Rogan’s thoughts on climate change
Joe Rogan did not agree with the narrative surrounding the climate change issue. While talking to Lomborg, he talked about an upcoming podcast episode with Randall Carlson and Graham Hancock. The BJJ black belt gave a preview of the episode as he discussed the Younger Dryas impact theory.
According to this theory, as Rogan explained, a comet either hit the earth or exploded above it, causing drastic effects on the climate. The millionaire podcast host said there was plenty of physical evidence of this phenomenon. He added how it affected sea levels and ice caps.

Rogan was trying to point out how climate crises have gone on forever, even before humans existed. He added that the climate has never been stable; he supported his argument by saying that the fluctuating climate levels would be obvious if you took the earth’s history of the past million years or so.
Rogan disagreed with the supposed reasons for climate change. However, he was open to finding the actual causes and acting on them if they were within human capacity.
