The last UFC outing of Robert Whittaker saw him earn a victory over Marvin Vettori via a unanimous decision. The Australian also created massive headlines recently when he was called out by the noted UFC Welterweight, Khamzat Chimaev. However, ‘The Reaper’ hasn’t been very clear about his response to ‘Borz’s’ callout. Instead, he looked more inclined to take on the victor of the Israel Adesanya vs Alex Pereira rematch.
The current UFC Middleweight played host to the former UFC Middleweight Champion, Michael Bisping, while he visited the home country of Whittaker. On one of their car trips, Bisping questioned ‘The Reaper’ about his take on the ‘Izzy’ vs ‘Poatan’ rematch scheduled for UFC 287. ‘The Reaper’ gave out an indefinite answer, pointing out the two ways in which the fight could go.

Robert Whittaker opinionated that Israel Adesanya’s mental setup would be a key factor
Michael Bisping brought up the issue of the ‘Izzy’ vs ‘Poatan’ rematch as he stated, “Pereira has got the job done 3 times against Izzy, even though Izzy was ahead on 3-1 on the scorecards going into the fifth”.
He also questioned Whittaker, “How do you see this going down between him and Izzy again? Just to get your take”.
The current UFC middleweight laid stress on how Adesanya‘s mental stature may become a determinant of this matchup. He presented both the frames in which ‘The Last Sylebender’s’ mind may be. ‘The Reaper’ iterated, “It’s about how Izzy’s mental game is gonna be after the third loss. It could’ve gone like, I can’t beat this guy and he’s gonna be real heavy in the fourth fight.”
Whitaker also opinionated that Pereira always looked like he was only one blow away from victory. He also stated, “Izzy was ahead 3-2 maybe, but Pereira seemed in control of a lot of fight as well.”

Whittaker laid stress on how Adesanya might have a nonchalant rematch
Israel Adesanya is no stranger to criticism. Many bashed the Nigerian-New Zealander even during his Middleweight championship reign. Whittaker put up the point that since he was the champion no more, he could take the burden off his shoulders and go for an insouciant fight.
