Brandon Moreno became the flyweight champion at UFC 263 when he submitted the former kingpin, Deiveson Figueiredo. It was a rematch between the duo. Their first fight ended in a majority draw. However, Moreno was way superior to his opponent in the rematch and earned a spectacular win to capture UFC gold.
Figueiredo has been vocal for a rematch since losing his belt. He wants a third fight to prove it was just a bad night out for him. There have also been speculations about Figueiredo moving up to the bantamweight division. Moreno believes ‘Deus Da Guerra’ will be a problem at the 135 lbs as well.

“Man, the weight cut is something serious. It’s something real, because you need to be careful how much you can cut until you start to lose power. You start to lose all the benefits of the weight-cut,” said Moreno.
“So, he’s huge, he has too much power. But I think in the bantamweight division he can make something better there because, he can have more energy there and he has the power in the right hand. But man it’s not my decision, you know. Maybe, if the people hear this interview, this answer, people can say something like, Oh, he is scared of a third fight against him or something like that,” he added.
“To be honest, no, I am trying to be like the analyst, you know, in his position. And I think it’s a mistake to keep him in the flyweight division. But I am nothing, I don’t have the position to say something,” Figueiredo concluded.

Garbrandt was once an undefeated champion of the UFC’s bantamweight division. He was considered as one of the very best to ever do it in the 135 lbs division of the UFC. But his fall from grace has been very prominent over the years. He has lost 4 out of his last 5 fights. ‘No Love’ has also been knocked out 3 times in that time period.
Garbrandt is looking to rejuvenate his career at the 135 lbs division. But he has previously indicated his desire to drop down to the flyweight division and capture a world title at a different weight class. So, if he is indeed willing to perform that move currently, a fight between him and Moreno is something that the fans would certainly enjoy.

That will certainly help him elevate his status and being more recognizable among the fans. So, if the UFC indeed schedules that fight, remains to be seen.
