Kevin Iole has been a columnist and reporter for MMA and UFC for a long time and has always questioned fearlessly. So much so that he does not get scared to question Dana White as well. White has always debated one topic with the reporters and that is Jon Jones. He thinks that Jones is the best P4P fighter even though he has been out of the game for an injury.
Following Dana White’s Contender Series 69 on Tuesday at UFC Apex the UFC head honcho was engaged in a heated discussion with the reporters. The debate was pretty respectful and passionate because the boss was debating with media members like Kevin Iole and John Morgan. The 12-minute exchange started as White was about to wrap up the presser and he was asked about Jone’s status as P4P GOAT.
White again enthusiastically talked about his stance and said that Jones was the best P4P and was just out because of an injury.
When Morgan asked about the inactivity White pointed out that it was not a choice. It was rather an injury, which Jones (27-1 MMA, 20-1 UFC) suffered weeks before an initial matchup with Stipe Miocic. However, during this argument, he was vehemently speaking up and at one point Iole said, “That’s what you do, you talk over us so we can’t answer.”

As soon as this was said, White replied, “I apologize you go ahead.” He had a smirk on his face while saying this and fans think this might indicate bad things for Kevin Iole. They even commented on the same.

This argument is not the first time that the boss has defended the pound-for-pound fighter. However, during this altercation, he became a bit too serious. Iole asked, “Does he have pictures of you?” to which others were laughing. This is when White decided to reply with a scathing remark and said, “You can’t be that f*cking stupid to think that Jon Jones is not the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world and the GOAT… but maybe you are?”
This altercation finally resulted in Iole telling him to let the reporters speak. This is what made the fans think that the reporter might lose his job. One follower stated under a post on Reddit, “That smile is him knowing the dude is now banned,” while another said, “I respect that journos sacrificing of his career for the sake of actual truth-seeking. “You talk over us so we can’t answer”, how right he is. Dana makes a habit of being the loudest and most confident, then derides anybody who questions his certainty; censoring those who dare to question his absolution.”
This did not end here as fans even compared this incident with the one that happened with Ariel Helwani. Dana White and Ariel Helwani do not see eye to eye and this is because Helwani had revealed that Brock Lesnar was coming back in 2016 which was supposed to be announced by UFC. The fan said on this note, “Mf is now going to get Ariel treatment from now on for this. Remember he did it for us.” Another follower said that iole might be banned, “That reporter now is banned.”

Another UFC fan chimed in, “You’ll never hear that guy speak at a UFC event again lol,” while one netizen said, “Dude better stay away from 3rd story windows for a while.” They all were concerned that Iole would be banned and might take some drastic steps. The speculations did not end there as one fan identified his voice and said, “That’s Kevin Iole. Love him,” while another follower wrote, “We will never see that reporter again. much respect man it was great while it lasted.”
Everyone is scared that the famous reporter might be banned from UFC just like Ariel Helwani was after the 2016 fiasco. Even though his UFC credentials have been restored, he still chooses to not attend events. Do you think Kevin Iole will face repercussions for this? Let us know in the comments below.
