“The People Want to Hate”: Hollywood Star Michael Jai White Backs UFC HW Champ Jon Jones’ GOAT Claim Despite Controversies

When Jon Jones made his grand return to the UFC, many were skeptical about his performance level. Numerous MMA fans believed that the former UFC light heavyweight champion would fail to win against Ciryl Gane as ring rust would have affected him. However, the mightiest UFC star didn’t take too long to defeat ‘Bon Gamin.’ After Jones’ victory against Gane, MMA fans all over the world began to consider him the greatest of all time. Nonetheless, some believed that ‘Bones’ could never be considered a ‘GOAT,’ as he had tested positive for PEDs in the past.

Some claim that a fighter cannot be considered a great fighter if he has taken some substance to enhance his performance. Despite these claims, MMA practitioner and Hollywood actor Michael Jai White supports Jon Jones. Jai White believes that Jones is the GOAT. He doesn’t believe that it is because of PEDs that Jones always performs in an extraordinary fashion.

The ‘Tyson’ actor was sharing his thoughts about the combat sports world with the YouTube channel, djvlad. During the conversation, the interviewer asked about Jai White’s thoughts on Jon Jones’s latest victory. As a reply to the question, he said, “I said that a long time ago [Jones is the GOAT], there’s no excuse. There’s no kinda argument against that, the people want to hate. The PEDs, yeah, the PEDs make you have good timing and no, I’m sorry, they don’t“

Talking further, Jai White added, “A lot of people did those PEDs and then I think he was exonerated for a lot of that. But, I don’t really wanna go into that. And I think I don’t know who’s gonna beat him. I felt like Ciryl Gane had the skills to be his hardest fight and you see how that turned out.” Without much doubt, the ‘Blood and Bone’ actor says that Jones is indeed the most outstanding fighter.

Joe Rogan chooses the GOAT between Jon Jones and Khabib Nurmagomedov

The UFC commentator Joe Rogan once came up with an answer for the never-ending ‘GOAT’ debate. Currently, MMA fans are split into two factions. While some take the name of Jon Jones as the GOAT, there are fans who believe Khabib Nurmagomedov deserves to sit on the GOAT throne.

It seems that the GOAT debate will go on in the UFC for years to come, but for Michael Jai White, it is Jon Jones.
