Conor McGregor has changed his weight class multiple times to compete in various divisions. The credit must go to his nutritionist among other members of Team McGregor. The fighter’s main man behind his diet, Tristin Kennedy, has changed things up for him in many ways.

Now, the fighter is going to appear in Jake Gyllenhaal’s movie, ‘Roadhouse,’ a re-envisioned version of the 1989 film of the same name. Kennedy recently spoke on EssentiallySports exclusive ES Fancast to speak about a number of things. Among those was McGregor’s plan to achieve a certain physique for the role.

McGregor’s physique in the ‘Roadhouse’ film is impressive, which can be said from the recent pictures. However, achieving this kind of physique for a film isn’t easy. While going into the Octagon requires a certain weight, it’s all about how things look in the film world.

Kennedy opened up about their process and goals for McGregor’s build. He certainly looks big in the set pictures but how did the team approach it all? Being as smart as he is, McGregor stuck with his nutritionist instead of getting someone from the studios. Here’s what Kennedy had to say to our host Noah Lack at the EssentiallySports exclusive.

“We had a goal for Roadhouse,” Kennedy started. “Physique-wise because it’s a movie and Julian our strength and conditioning side of things, he took care of that as well . . . and we came up with this kind of regime that we could do from nutrition and training kind of perspective . . . and the man himself took on the challenge of doing it all.”

Clearly, McGregor’s motivations aren’t to be doubted when it comes to switching up his physique for any number of things. The Jake Gyllenhaal starer flick will most likely drop around 2024. While filming has wrapped, not an awful lot of details have been dropped by the lead actor who looks just as physically prepared for his role as ‘The Notorious’.

What is the film doing with the UFC?

Earlier this year, lead actor Jake Gyllenhaal showed up at a UFC event to film his realistic weigh-ins. The old film was centered around a bouncer who has a run-in with a “crime-boss”. While the new film is considered a reimagining of the old, it’s clear that with the UFC involved, the story may have changed a bit.

Gyllenhaal himself looked absolutely shredded at the weigh-ins. It looks like McGregor won’t be the only super-muscular figure on the set after all. In the meantime, filming for the film has begun, but an official release date is yet to be revealed. Are you going to check out the film in the cinemas? Let us know in the comments.
